AhlulBayt News Agency: Jeddah Islamic Port welcomed the first group of Hajj pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia by sea on Wednesday.
The group consisted of 1,407 Sudanese pilgrims, who were received by Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Ahmed bin Sufyan Al-Hassan and other officials.
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has implemented all necessary measures to ensure smooth operations for receiving pilgrims.
Mawani aims to enhance efficiency across various aspects of the Hajj journey, including arrival procedures, baggage handling, and transportation to holy sites.
These efforts are part of an integrated operational plan, developed in coordination with relevant authorities and aligned with the broader transportation sector to better serve pilgrims.
This year, Mawani introduced three key initiatives to streamline pilgrim travel:
- Direct luggage transfer for easier transit
- Advance shipment handling to ensure smooth movement
- Coordinated livestock truck transit from Jeddah to Mecca during restricted times
These initiatives aim to significantly improve the pilgrim experience, ensuring comfort and efficiency throughout their journey
